MBT is one of the foundational thiazole accelerators of the rubber industry, providing a medium-fast cure with a broad vulcanisation plateau in sulphur-cured compounds.
It is used both as a primary accelerator and as an activator for other accelerator classes, and remains a cost-effective backbone of many general purpose cure systems.
