TMTD is a thiuram ultra-accelerator used to sharply raise cure rate, and also serves as a sulphur donor in efficient and semi-efficient vulcanisation systems.
Small additions transform the cure profile, so it is typically used as a secondary accelerator alongside thiazoles or sulphenamides.
